Rental lifecycle

What happens from purchase to expiry

PurchaseChoose a plan and a number of days, then pay once.
ProvisionYour service is created. The rental clock starts when it is ready.
UseWork on it for the full term. Your dashboard shows the exact expiry time.
Extend or expireAdd more days before the expiry time, or let the rental end.
A fixed-day rental is not daily billing. You are charged once for the whole term. Nothing is charged again unless you choose to extend.

The rules, in plain language

Know exactly how a rental behaves before you pay.

When it starts

The rental period starts when your service has been provisioned and is ready to use, not at the moment of payment.

When it ends

It ends exactly the purchased number of days later. The expiry date and time are shown in UTC and in your local timezone in the dashboard.

Reminders

You receive email and dashboard reminders before the expiry time so you can decide whether to extend.

Extending

Add more days from Rental Management at any time before expiry. The extra days are added to the current expiry time.

Grace period and suspension

After expiry the service is suspended. A short grace period lets you renew and restore it. The length is shown at checkout.

Data retention

If the rental is not renewed within the grace period, the service and its data are permanently deleted. Take a backup of anything you need.

Acceptable use. Our services may only be used for lawful purposes. Spam, phishing, malware, attacks on other systems, copyright infringement and any other unauthorised or abusive use are not allowed. Accounts that break the Acceptable Use Policy are suspended and may be terminated without a refund.

Rental questions

Will I be charged again automatically?

No. A fixed-day rental is a one-time payment. It only continues if you choose to extend it.

Can I rent for a number of days that is not listed?

The standard durations are 1, 3, 5 and 10 days. You can reach longer periods by extending, or choose a monthly term instead.

Can I convert a rental into a monthly plan?

Yes. Before the rental expires you can switch the service to a monthly or yearly term from your dashboard and keep your data.

Can I get a refund if I finish early?

Short-term rentals are sold for a fixed period. See the Refund and Cancellation Policy for what is eligible.
